As most of our purchases are non-related to our vehicles, financing is also an option should you want to do that for your tires. It’s normal, and a lot of people do it.
However, the question on everybody’s lips remains: should you be financing your own tire purchase?
It doesn’t matter whether you can afford it or have the means to do so. Choosing to finance your tire purchase is something that you have to seriously think about. It’s so much deeper than that, and sometimes financing your own purchase can sometimes come with an additional cost – this is especially so if you have no idea what you’re doing.
If you aren’t careful enough, financing our own tires can incur additional expenses. It doesn’t look like it, but more things are happening beneath the surface.
So how should you be financing your tire purchases?
Generally, there are two ways to go about financing a tire purchase. These are the following:
- Dealer Financing
- Credit Card Purchase
Depending on either your dealer or your credit card company’s terms, you might benefit from both.
There’s an introductory period on large purchases whenever you’re using your credit card. So a tire that costs around $100 to $300 will benefit you greatly. While a 0% annual percentage rate might last for three to six months, after that, a full 20% to 30% will kick in. Honestly, credit cards are great, but you have to remember to pay them back as soon as you can.
Then the second option that you have is going directly to the car and tire dealership you want to purchase your tires from.
